In a very recent update, it is informed by the sources and media houses that senior journalist and famous former chairman Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has been shot on Tuesday in federal capital Islamabad.
The news of his shot has spread in every nook and corner of the country. Moreover, everyone knows about this incident through Absar Alam’s video message on Twitter.
In a video message that is originally shared by the Asad Toor, Absar Alam can be heard while sharing his story that he was just walking outside of his home when he was shot by someone.
In his video message, Absar Alam said that he was shot in his ribs. But he has not lost hopes.
Furthermore, Absar Alam also said in his message that ” My message to those people who did all this is that I am not going to get scared by such type of tactics”.
Response from the Society
Soon after the news shared on social media and electronic media everyone came with condemning this barbaric incident of a murder attempt on Absar Alam.
Information Minister of Pakistan Fawad Chaudhry has also condemned the incident and asked the authorities to investigate the matter.
In addition, Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid has also condemned the attack on Absar Alam and also asked Inspector General (IG) Islamabad to investigate the matter and arrest the culprit involved in the matter.
Moreover, it is also seen that journalist unions and famous journalist of the country also showed their high concerns regarding the issue of attack on Absar Alam.
The issue of the attempt of murder or killing the journalist and media person is very common all over the world.
Furthermore, Mexico is considered as the deadliest country for the journalists.
According to some reports, Mexico, Afghanistan, the Philippines, Syria, Iraq, India, Pakistan are among the states that have a very high ratio of the killing of journalists and media house owners.
