Brief Facts
In the year 1928, Sir Alexander Fleming discovered the first antibiotic when he was testing it in his lab. He was a British-Scotish, born in 1881 and died in 1955. Further, he was popularly a physician and microbiologist, better known for discovering the world’s first antibiotic substance, i.e. penicillin. Moreover, Alexander was Rector of Edinburgh University for the period 1951-1954, Freeman of many boroughs and cities, and Honorary Chief Doy-gei-tau of the Kiowa tribe.
