At last, the two Muslim states have come to the table for the revival of diplomatic ties. The state of Pakistan and China have played a vital role in the revival of the relations between the two states.
In March 2023 the current running month both states Saudi Arabia and Iran officially started reviving the cold ties that were disturbed in the year 2016 when Saudi Arabia executed the Iranian Shia Cleric Nimr al Nimr.
Since the year 2016, both states were in a cold relationship. After the execution of a Shia cleric in Saudia Arabia, the people of Iran attacked the Saudi Arabian Embassy in Iran which further put the relations in a cold corner.
Cold War Between Iran and Saudi Arabia
In the past, Iran and Saudi Arabia enjoyed very good diplomatic, commercial, and economic relations. But the world see a sudden change in the relations when there came the “Iranian Revolution” in 1979 in Iran. With the fear of the import of this revolution in Iran, the Saudi Government opposed all the acts of the Iranian Revolution. Since then the relationship between the two Muslim states never remained in a good condition.
Implications of Revival of Relations – Saudi Arabia & Iran
The implications of the revival of diplomatic ties and reopening of embassies on both sides will have a win-win situation for both states. The law and order situation will certainly improve after the improvement of relations between Iran and KSA.
Similarly, the Yamen Crisi that is a crisis for humanity for the last many years and will come to an end after the start of diplomatic ties between Iran and Saudi Arabia.
