The Provincial Assembly of Balochistan is the unicameral legislature of the Balochistan province in Pakistan. It has a total of 65 seats, of which 51 are directly elected through a first-past-the-post system in their respective constituencies, while the remaining 14 seats are reserved seats for women and religious minorities.
Elected Seats
The 51 directly elected seats are allocated to the constituencies on the basis of population, with more populous areas having more seats in the assembly. The reserved seats are allocated to political parties based on their share of the directly elected seats in the assembly.
Term
Members of the Provincial Assembly of Balochistan are elected for a term of five years through a first-past-the-post system in their respective constituencies. The political party that wins the most directly elected seats in the general elections forms the provincial government, and its leader becomes the Chief Minister of Balochistan.
